Appeal from Your Pack Leader

More Bark, Less Bite

Advocacy is critical for the profession of architecture.  INVEST, CONNECT, and COMMUNICATE through the Pennsylvania Architects PAC.  With your contribution you will invest in our profession, you will facilitate our connection with the legislators in Harrisburg who are making decisions that impact our profession, and you will assist all of your colleagues in keeping us from being defeated by other groups.  Your contribution to the PAC will assure that we can have important conversations communicating our issues to advocate for PA architects' needs.

Why is it important for AIA PA to be part of the conversation in Harrisburg when it comes to our issues?

The legislature in Harrisburg is where the decisions about our profession and our built environment are made.  A few key committees control our issues.  AIA PA must be known to these legislators to have the clout to advocate effectively for our issues.  Only the Pennsylvania Architects PAC can give to the legislators to keep us β€œon their radar screen.”

This fall we have two immediate challenges facing our industry.  First, there is a pending Interior Designer registration bill, introduced in June. That is in the Finance Committee right now, giving us an immediate need to protect our licenses and our practices that is more urgent than usual.  Secondly, our own Mandatory Continuing Ed bill has been introduced, and we need to advocate for it with members of the legislature.

Making contributions to the Pennsylvania Architects PAC should be part of your long-term strategy if you intend to stay in the profession.  You say that you have already given to candidates of your choice?  Great, but the PAC is different.  This type of giving is not partisan.  Instead, we give to the legislators on both sides of the aisle who have control of our issues, along with other key elected officials influencing our concerns.  Please make a donation to the Pennsylvania Architects PAC today to invest in your future!
